We are always looking for positive female role models over the age of 21 to become a buddy to one of the young women in our Bridging the Gap program.
To be a buddy, you need to be able to commit 4 hours each month over an 8 month program and pass a Working with Children and National Police Check. We will provide your training.
Our young women need real people who want to have fun, be a positive role model and, most of all, lend a listening ear and encouragement as a trusted adult.
If you are a former Out-of-Home care woman; that lived experience will have highlighted the need for systemic change we need you.
Not unlike the youth justice and prison systems not much ever changes within Out-of-Home care and so to assist drive essential change, BoH has established the BoH Australian Care Experienced (ACE) sisterhood initiative. So if you are an experienced Out-of-Home care woman interested in joining the BoH/ACE ‘sisterhood’ movement and assist young women currently trapped in the system, then we are especially interested in hearing from you.
